Common questions
Before you get started.
Do you serve businesses outside Toronto?
Yes. SHALALA is based in Toronto and works remotely with suitable service businesses throughout the GTA and across Canada. The service is delivered online and in writing.
Can you help with books that are behind?
Yes, where the underlying QuickBooks file is fundamentally workable. Catch-up work is separately quoted. Significant historical reconstruction and unresolved accounting or tax issues may require another specialist. Read about catch-up bookkeeping.
Are tax returns, GST/HST filing or payroll included?
GST/HST recording and tracking are included where applicable. Tax returns, tax advice, GST/HST return preparation and filing, payroll processing and assurance are outside the service. Your accountant or another specialist can provide those services.
How do you decide which monthly plan applies?
We consider your monthly transaction volume, number of accounts and bookkeeping complexity together. The scope and fee are confirmed in writing before work begins. Review plan details and transaction counting.
Do I need to attend calls or meetings?
No meeting is required. A free 15-minute introduction is available. Growth and Established include an optional 15-minute check-in each quarter; additional one-time or monthly bookkeeping meetings are available for a fee. Routine questions and updates are handled primarily in writing. See optional-service pricing.
